Hartford Heroin Dealer Sentenced to More Than 15 Years in Federal Prison
Nora R. Dannehy, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that CHRISTOPHER RAMOS, 30, of Hartford, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford to 188 months of imprisonment, followed by six years of supervised release. On October 24, 2008, RAMOS pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of heroin.
According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, on September 12, 2007, RAMOS and his mother, Yazmin Ramos, distributed 1000 dose bags of heroin to another individual for $2750 in a parking lot at 1888 Main Street in Hartford. On August 14, 2007, CHRISTOPHER RAMOS distributed 2000 dose bags for $5000 to the same individual on Broad Street in Hartford. In addition to distributing more than 100 grams of heroin, RAMOS also distributed more than 60 grams of crack cocaine.
RAMOS’ criminal history includes six prior felony convictions and three prior violations of probation.
On October 20, 2008, Yazmin Ramos pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of heroin. She awaits sentencing.
This matter was investigated by the Hartford Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert M. Spector.
